Hungry Eyes
From childhood treasure hunts at flea markets to becoming a sought-after vintage curator, Jillian Kornsweig transformed a lifelong passion for one-of-a-kind fashion finds into a thriving business. As the founder of Hungry Eyes Vintage, she celebrates “stylish imperfection” and individual expression through her carefully curated collection.
What inspired you to start selling in the vintage space?
My passion for vintage sparked early. As a tiny human, I fell in love with the thrill of hunting for hidden treasures tucked away in flea markets and shops, and I never stopped. Dressing up in one-of-a-kind finds became one of my favorite ways to express myself, and the joy it brought me was electric. After years of hearing ‘Where’d you get that?’ from friends and strangers alike, I knew it was time to share my passion with others and made the leap from collector to seller. It’s truly been an absolute dream ever since!

How would you describe your personal style?
Stylish imperfectionist, of course! I personally love pieces that have some drama to it, maybe even an artistic statement on its own—whether it’s through texture, shape, or a fantastic graphic.
Are there any trends you’ve been loving lately? Any trends you’re hoping make a comeback?
Yes—hats! I’m so happy to see pillbox hats, sailor hats, all kinds of hats having a moment right now! I love an accessory that can transform a simple look to something with a bit more soul.

Is there a piece you’re on the hunt for?
For me the best part of vintage shopping is never knowing what treasures you’ll find! That being said, if a Barry Kieselstein-Cord alligator bag happened to show up on my doorstep, I’d be very happy.
Is there a piece you wish you’d kept?
Oh my gosh—yes. My Kate Moss Tibetan Mongolian lamb fur jacket, in perfect condition. That piece haunts me in my sleep.
What does the future hold for Hungry Eyes? What are your goals for the rest of 2025?
I want the collection to reach the hearts of even more of the vintage-obsessed—those who cherish the art of style and delight in the fun of dressing up. I’m especially looking forward to growing the House Codes community through more curated online experiences, while also spoiling my NYC-based customers at my private studio, Seven Wonders Collective shop, and markets throughout the year.
